Do you ever feel like you just need to escape? Escape the city, escape the daily grind, and return to nature? Just relax and enjoy the peace and quietness.
That's exactly what we thought, so we packed up our trusty "Kubu" and hit the road. We didn't have a specific destination in mind, just the desire to spend a few days surrounded by nature, preferably by a lake.

After a few hours of driving through the picturesque Swedish landscape, we found our own little slice of heaven: Glaskogen. This nature reserve in the western part of the Swedish province of Värmland is simply breathtaking.

Dense forests, countless lakes big and small, and diverse wildlife – Glaskogen is a paradise for nature lovers. We went on a long hike, spotted butterflies and snakes along the way, and cooled off in the crystal-clear water.
.
Evenings in Glaskogen are pure magic. We watched the sunset over the lake, gazed at the starry sky, and enjoyed delicious pizza in the evening and fresh bread in the morning, courtesy of our trusty Travel Buddy.
The only minor inconvenience was the mosquitoes, but with enough bug spray, we were well-protected.

To make sure your trip is just as unforgettable as ours, here are a few tips:
Packing list: Think of everything you'll need for a few days in the wilderness. There are no stores in Glaskogen.
Respect nature: Leave no trace and take your trash with you. If you see any trash left behind by others, please be a good sport and pack it out as well.
Insect repellent: Mosquitoes and other insects can be a nuisance. Don't forget to bring plenty of bug spray, otherwise, it can be a real pain.
Equipment: A kayak or SUP board is ideal for exploring the lakes. We unfortunately didn't have one with us, which we really regretted.
Glaskogen is a place where you can truly unwind and enjoy nature to the fullest. We're already planning our next trip back!
